Port Oneida Community Alliance volunteers organize and conduct the following projects…
- Rehabilitation and on-going care and up keep of the historic monuments at Kelderhouse Port Oneida Cemetery. The cemetery is owned and maintained by Cleveland Township.
Past Projects
- Publication of “School Days at Port Oneida,” a history of the Port Oneida School by Andrew White. Available for purchase at the Leelanau Historical Society.
- Periodic potluck gatherings of descendants and friends of Port Oneida.
- Demonstration gardens and agricultural plantings at the historic Kelderhouse Farm, a Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore property, as a feature of the Port Oneida Fair.
- Seasonal work-bees to keep the Kelderhouse farmyard tidy and trails mowed to access the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, outhouse, and cemetery.
